1. John Beasley Park- This beach is a large park on Okaloosa Island that has amenities such as free parking, restrooms, showers, and pavilions. With a large platform and two dune walkovers, this is the perfect spot to set up for a beach day. While you may feel like you are away from it all while visiting this beach, you are still conveniently situated between Fort Walton Beach and Destin and have options on where to explore from there.

2. Crab Trap - The Crap Trap in Destin is also home to another great (and free) beach located on Scenic Highway 98. While it isn’t a quiet beach by any means, this is where people come to gather, eat, and play for a fun day. 3. Henderson State Beach Park- This beach is a Florida State Park and is very well maintained. While you will have to pay a small entrance free, you will have access to nature trails, pavilions, and camping.

5. Off the path- If you are driving over the Destin bridge, heading west this beach spot is the first access point on the gulf side. It has zero amenities- no bathroom, no showers, no parking. However, it is truly a site to be seen and taken in. It is perfect for a beach walk, sunset, or photos.
